Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Design error-corrected qubit architectures for next-gen quantum processors
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum hardware-software interfaces
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at quantum computing conferences
- Collaborate with industry partners to implement quantum solutions in finance and healthcare
- Mentor junior researchers and drive quantum literacy initiatives
- Secure federal grants and private funding for quantum research projects
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum error correction or quantum algorithms
- Expertise in quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, ion trap, photonic)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Proven track record of securing research funding (NSF, DOE, or equivalent)
- Experience mentoring graduate-level researchers or interns
