This role blends data science, foresight methodologies, and cross-industry collaboration to deliver actionable intelligence for C-suite executives and product development teams.
You'll lead horizon-scanning initiatives, develop scenario-planning frameworks, and translate complex signals into strategic roadmaps. Our Austin-based team operates at the intersection of technology and human behavior, creating tangible impact for Fortune 500 partners in biotech, AI, and sustainable infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Conduct horizon scanning across 15+ emerging technology domains (quantum computing, neurotech, climate AI)
- Develop predictive scenario models for 2026 market disruptions using proprietary Foresight Engine
- Lead cross-functional workshops with R&D and strategy teams to translate foresight into product roadmaps
- Produce quarterly Trend Briefings for executive stakeholders with actionable recommendations
- Build and maintain an ecosystem of futurist researchers, VCs, and academic institutions
- Design and deploy early-warning systems for emerging regulatory and ethical challenges
- Represent Horizon Dynamics at global innovation forums (Web Summit, CES, Davos)
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Futures Studies, Systems Thinking, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years in foresight, strategic innovation, or technology trend analysis
- Proven experience with scenario planning tools (e.g., Causal Layered Analysis, Delphi method)
- Portfolio demonstrating published foresight work or impact-driven trend predictions
- Expertise in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical analysis (Python/R)
- Deep understanding of exponential technologies (AI, biotech, quantum computing)
- Certification in Futures Thinking or Strategic Foresight (e.g., from University of Houston)
