Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum error correction protocols
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and top-tier conferences
- Secure federal and private research funding through grant proposals
- Mentor PhD candidates and junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors
- Stay current with emerging quantum technologies and threats
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Proven track record of quantum algorithm development (Shor's, Grover's, VQE)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or trapped ion technologies
