Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for cryptography and optimization problems
- Lead experimental quantum computing projects using superconducting qubit systems
- Publish high-impact research in Nature/Science journals and industry whitepapers
- Mentor a cross-functional team of physicists and software engineers
- Secure $1M+ in government grants and corporate partnerships
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum processors
- Collaborate with AI teams to integrate quantum-classical hybrid systems
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum computing platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum assembly languages
- Published research in quantum information theory or quantum algorithms
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum mechanics
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Ability to secure research funding through NSF/NIH grants
- Expertise in cryogenic engineering and quantum hardware design
