Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum computing architectures using superconducting qubits
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop error-correction techniques for fault-tolerant systems
- Secure federal and private research funding through grant proposals and white papers
- Mentor junior researchers and publish breakthrough findings in Nature/Science journals
- Develop quantum machine learning frameworks for enterprise applications
- Participate in quantum standards development with IEEE and NIST working groups
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum computing platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, or Cirq)
- Strong background in linear algebra, statistical mechanics, and complexity theory
- Experience securing research grants exceeding $500K
- Expertise in cryogenic systems and microwave control electronics
