Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental research on qubit stability and error correction protocols
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop scalable quantum processors
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and industry whitepapers
- Mentor junior researchers and secure federal/grant funding for quantum initiatives
- Develop patentable quantum solutions for cryptography and materials science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with superconducting/ion trap systems
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published work in quantum information theory or topological quantum computing
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Experience with cloud quantum platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket)
- Strong track record of securing research grants or patents
