Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate quantum processors with classical computing infrastructure
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure federal and private research grants to advance quantum computing initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing education programs
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance principles
- Publication record in quantum computing or high-performance computing
- Expertise in quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, trapped ion, photonic)
- Strong Python/C++ programming skills with parallel computing experience
- Ability to secure competitive research funding through grant applications
