Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX regulations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for executive review
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for 15+ departmental units
- Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures with accuracy
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax authorities
- Implement financial analysis tools to optimize cash flow and reduce operational costs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience with 3+ in corporate controller role
- Expert proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel modeling
- Demonstrated experience with SOX compliance and internal controls
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams
- Detroit metro area residency required for in-office collaboration
