Responsibilities
- Develop 5-year technology roadmaps aligning with market trends and organizational goals
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping and validating emerging technologies
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive innovations with commercial potential
- Design governance frameworks for ethical AI implementation and digital sovereignty
- Forge strategic partnerships with academic institutions and tech incubators
- Present technology forecasts to executive stakeholders and investment committees
- Manage R&D budgets exceeding $10M for future-tech initiatives
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy or R&D leadership within Fortune 500 or high-growth startups
- Proven track record of launching products leveraging emerging technologies (quantum, AR/VR, etc.)
- Deep expertise in at least two of: AI ethics, blockchain scalability, quantum computing applications
- Certifications in technology forecasting or innovation management (e.g., CTO Academy, INSEAD)
- Experience securing patents for novel technological implementations
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- PhD or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or Futurism preferred
