Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a 5-year technology foresight framework identifying disruptive innovations with strategic commercial potential
- Lead cross-functional workshops to align product roadmaps with emerging technology trends
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research in emerging fields (quantum computing, neuromorphic AI, bio-integrated systems)
- Present strategic recommendations to C-suite executives and board members with data-backed impact projections
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and startups to acquire cutting-edge technologies
- Manage innovation pipeline prioritization using scenario planning and risk assessment methodologies
- Mentor junior strategists and build a future-focused technology intelligence network
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic technology planning, R&D management, or corporate innovation with Fortune 500 experience
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Proven track record of successfully commercializing emerging technologies (AI/quantum/blockchain)
- Expertise in horizon scanning, trend analysis, and scenario planning methodologies
- Deep understanding of ethical implications and regulatory landscapes for future technologies
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Experience managing multi-million dollar innovation budgets and cross-functional teams
- Published thought leadership in technology strategy or innovation management
